January is National Hot Tea Month

It's the first month of a new year, resolutions have been made and the slate is clean. January is also National Hot Tea Month and a new opportunity to get healthy and live the life you promise yourself every December.

Tea has been around for thousands of years, originating in China. It has grown into the most consumed beverage in the world second only to water. Tea was seen as a sign of sophistication, and money. It didn't start as just a warm beverage, it was used medicinally to help fortify the body, heal and fight infections. Celebrate Hot Tea Month with your favorite cup of tea. There are many varieties of tea, all picked at different stages and manufactured to produce their own unique flavor.

Adding tea to your health resolution is easy and inexpensive. Tea can help in the battle of the bulge and increase your immunity to colds and the flu as published in a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition tea can promote weight loss by increasing the amount of energy spent by the body. The theory is that green tea, because of the catechin content, has thermogenic properties that promote fat oxidation. Therefore, drinking tea can boost your metabolism and burn fat.

Tea helps you look and feel better. Drinking three cups of black tea produces 5 x's the amount of germ-fighting cells to fight viral infections and flu.

 Peace, Love & Tea.
