Losing weight is not an easy task. If your already on a diet and also exercising, try adding tea (without milk) to your routine. You probably already know that tea is rich in antioxidants and that it also helps to prevent arthritis, tooth decay and keep strokes away. But did you know that the compounds in tea also absorb fat. Tea also has a type of flavonoid called catechins that can boost your metabolism and help your body break down fats more quickly. A study in the International Journal of Molecular Science found that fasting overnight, followed by green tea (at least 30 minutes before your first meal of the day), had the best possible absorption of EGCG, the magic nutrient in green tea that speeds up your metabolism.

There are many teas available on the market today and choosing one may be overwhelming. Here are some types of tea that are best for shedding pounds. 

Green tea has a chemical called EGCG which speeds up your metabolism and help you shed the flab. Green tea also raises the antioxidant level that can boosts you metabolism and help you burn fat. 

Black tea can help prevent weight gain because it contains polyphenols that help fight fat absorption during digestion. Black tea is also believed to help protect the body against diabetes. 

Oolong tea is semi-fermented and more effective than green tea to help you lose weight because it burns fat and helps reduce cholesterol. 

White tea helps to breakdown fat cells and prevents the accumulation of fatty tissue. It has a hight level of antioxidants especially EGCG also found in green tea. 

Rooibos tea has powerful flavonoid called Aspalathin, a compound that can reduce the stress hormones that trigger hunger.

Try a couple of cups of tea in your daily routine. Your energy levels will rise and give you a push towards your weight loss goal. Tea is not going to get you back into those skinny jeans alone, you have to make lifestyle changes which include a proper diet and daily exercise.
