It is commonly known as a mild sleep inducer with calming effects attributed to the antioxidant apigenin in the tea. This particular antioxidant binds to certain receptors in your brain that can decrease anxiety and help initiate sleep.
Use 1 heaped teaspoon per 8 oz. cup. Steep at 212º F for 5 minutes. Store Chamomile tea in the refrigerator.
