How many cups of tea can I steep from 1oz of loose leaf tea?
The number of cups you can steep from 1 oz of loose leaf tea will vary depending on the type and size of the tea leaves, as well as how strong you prefer your tea. As a general estimate, 1 oz (approximately 28 grams) of loose leaf tea can make about 5-9 eight-ounce cups. Tea leaves vary greatly in size and density, from short and broken leaves and CTC teas to traditional leaf and long-leaf varieties, so the amount of tea used per cup will differ. Many high-quality loose leaf teas can also be steeped more than once, allowing you to enjoy even more cups from the same leaves. These amounts are intended as a helpful guide rather than an exact measurement.
